At a time when most of the world’s economies are still in recession Indian models show off lingerie in a Mumbai fashion show. This is a good sign as to how fast things are changing in India and that in India the economy is still surging ahead.

While India still suffers from a slow moving over-sized bureaucracy the nation has made reforms that have unleashed capitalistic energy into the economy. It is ironic that the US is moving to a managed economy while India and other governments, like the Chinese, are moving towards capitalism as they have proved that managed economies do not work very well. If there were any intelligence in Washington, D.C. you would find at least a few politicians who know enough about history to be ringing alarm bells for the direction America is taking.

India is now producing millionaires, even billionaires,at a rate that will support high fashion. No doubt that even in a country that is largely conservative lifestyles are changing fast enough for enough people so that Indian models will enjoy busy careers. A few years ago Indian models would not have dared to show off lingerie, now they seem to welcome the opportunity.
